Food Pyramid To Lose Weight



With the help of this pyramid we will be able to replace higher calorie foods with lower calories without neglecting nutritional value.

A modest weight loss of 5-10% will reduce your risk of developing diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. Learning how to decrease your calorie intake while maintaining adequate nutrient is of prime importance to achieve good health.

SOME USEFUL TIPS TO REDUCE WEIGHT - 
  • Start your meals with an appetizer like ginger soup or any veg soup, green salad etc. If you eat a low-calorie appetizer before your main meal, you will eat less and feel fuller during the meal.
  • Take in foods that have a lower fat content. Use skim milk instead of whole milk and low-fat yogurt instead of cheese.
  • If you are non-vegetarian then  eat meat one or two times a week. Try for low fat content meat such as chicken and fish instead of red meat or beef.  
  • Go for roasted, baked, grilled and steamed foods instead of fried foods.
  • Eat foods that are made of whole grains and high on fiber like whole wheat bread, brown rice, fruits and vegetables. 
  • Drink at least 8-12 glasses of water every day. Avoid soft drinks, energy drinks and colas as they content more calories and very less nutrition values.
  • Exercise daily  for 30-45 minutes. jogging and aerobics are good for weight reduction.
